BriefAgent

Your personal AI chief of staff — research, summaries, task tracking, email triage, and daily briefings in one agent.

BriefAgent is a personal productivity AI that handles the cognitive overhead of running a business or career. Every morning it delivers a structured daily brief: outstanding tasks, key deadlines, market signals relevant to your work, and drafted replies to flagged emails. Feed it a document and it produces a tight summary. Ask it to research a topic and it returns a structured briefing note. Runs locally — no subscription to another SaaS tool required.

Why it works

Daily Intelligence Brief

Compiles a structured morning brief every day: tasks, deadlines, relevant news signals, and email summaries — delivered to your dashboard or inbox.

On-Demand Research

Drop in a URL or ask a question and receive a structured briefing note — key facts, takeaways, and recommended actions — in under 30 seconds.

Email Triage & Draft

Monitors your inbox, flags messages requiring action, scores by priority, and drafts suggested replies for your approval before anything sends.

Frequently asked questions

Does it connect to my calendar?

BriefAgent reads from a task YAML file and can pull deadlines from Google Calendar via the Calendar API (setup guide included). Outlook/iCal support requires a webhook adapter.

What email providers does it support?

Any IMAP-compatible inbox: Gmail, Outlook, Fastmail, ProtonMail (via Bridge), and custom domains. OAuth setup is covered in the guide.

How does the news monitoring work?

You define a list of topics, competitors, and keywords. The agent monitors RSS feeds and web sources daily and includes relevant signals in your morning brief.

Is my email data stored anywhere?

No. BriefAgent processes email locally — nothing leaves your server. Draft replies are generated on-device and require your approval before sending.

Can I run it without a server?

Yes. BriefAgent runs on any machine with Node.js 18+ — your laptop, a home server, or a $5 cloud VPS. No always-on infrastructure required for basic use.
